Never an automaker to overlook when it has a good thing going, Toyota is making a mild change to its TRD Pro models’ color palette while also giving the 4Runner some new running gear. Additionally, special-edition Trail models are coming to the Tacoma, Tundra and 4Runner.

New Color

Army Green is no longer available for 2021 TRD Pro models. Replacing it is what Toyota is calling Lunar Rock, a sort of muted mint green-gray. It looks pretty good in the released photos (though so did Army Green). It’s too bad both aren’t available.

New Shoes and Glasses for 4Runner

The 4Runner TRD Pro also gets a retuned suspension featuring 2.5-inch internal bypass Fox shocks, as well as new Nitto Terra Grappler tires and redesigned black wheels. The new suspension setup yields an additional 1-inch lift to the front end, while providing what Toyota claims is a solid balance of on- and off-road ability. All 2021 4Runner trim levels now include standard LED headlights, too.

Trail Models

Special-edition Trail models are new for 2021, too, based on the lower SR5 trim level. Both the Tacoma and Tundra include lockable bed storage, while the 4Runner gets a special lockable cooler that can be secured to the cargo area as well as a cargo rack on the roof. All three models get unique wheel treatments, as well.
