Toyota released pricing for its popular 2021 Tacoma mid-size pickup truck, including for the new Trail and Nightshade Editions first revealed at the 2020 Chicago Auto Show. Most 2021 Tacomas will see a small price increase of roughly $100-$300 depending on trim.

For 2021, V-6 models get standard dual-zone climate automatic air conditioning, while the TRD Sport and TRD Off-Road get improved audio systems that allow the use of Toyota Remote Services. A first-aid kit is also standard on the SR5 and above. The 2021 TRD Pro drops the choice of an Army Green exterior color in favor of Lunar Rock, too. All 2021 Tacomas come standard with Toyota’s Safety Sense  P suite of advanced safety tech that includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision detection with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, lane departure alert and automatic high beams.

Trail Edition

One of two new special-edition 2021 Tacomas is the Trail Edition. Based on the SR5 trim, it includes black exterior badging, 16-inch TRD Off-Road wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires, the Limited’s grille, a 120-volt outlet in the bed, and lockable and insulated bed storage with a drain plug. The Trail Edition will come in 4x2 or 4x4 configurations and will feature a choice of Army Green, Cement, Midnight Black or Super White paint colors.

  • 2021 Trail Edition 4x2: $35,180 (all prices include a $1,175 destination fee)
  • 2021 Trail Edition 4x4: $38,255

Nightshade Edition

The second new special-edition 2021 Tacoma, the Nightshade, starts life as a Limited and adds black exterior trim and a black leather interior. Other darkened features include Dark Smoke 18-inch wheels, a dark chrome grille insert, and black exhaust tips and foglight bezels. Exterior paint choices for the Nightshade are Midnight Black Metallic, Magnetic Gray Metallic or Windchill Pearl.

  • 2021 Nightshade Edition 4x2: $41,080
  • 2021 Nightshade Edition 4x4 $44,155

Rest of the Lineup

Depending on the trim you prefer, you can choose from an Access (extended) or double (crew) cab, a 5-foot short bed or 6-foot long bed, a four-cylinder or V-6 engine, a six-speed manual or automatic transmission, and either a 4x2 or 4x4 drivetrain.

Trim-level starting prices below are for models with automatic transmissions unless otherwise noted; the price increase for the trim level is included afterward. Note that the destination fee for 2021 is $1,175, while the destination fee for 2020 models is $1,175 for models “processed” after Aug. 1, 2020, and $1,120 for models processed before then. The starting price increase is calculated based on the $1,175 destination fee for both model years, but if you can find a 2020 model on a dealership lot there’s a chance you might be able to save an extra $55.
