When Ford revealed the redesigned 2021 F-150, we weren’t surprised that the Blue Oval didn’t provide full specs, saying they’d be rolled out in a trickle over the next several months. Well, the faucet has turned on and now we know power figures, towing and payload capabilities for the new full-size pickup. The 2021 F-150’s maximum specs are 14,000 pounds of towing capacity, 3,325 of pounds payload capacity, 430 horsepower and 570 pounds-feet of torque.

Horsepower and Torque

The 2021 F-150 will offer six engine options: three gas-only V-6s, the new hybrid V-6, a diesel V-6 and the tried-and-true 5.0-liter V-8. All are paired to Ford’s 10-speed automatic transmission. Some engines carry over unchanged, while others get as much as 25 more hp and 30 more pounds-feet of torque. The total system output of the new PowerBoost hybrid gives the F-150 its highest-ever torque figure. Here are the engines and their numbers:

  • Twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter EcoBoost V-6: 325 hp, 400 pounds-feet of torque (no change from 2020)
  • Naturally aspirated 3.3-liter V-6: 290 hp, 265 pounds-feet (no change)
  • Twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6: 400 hp, 500 pounds-feet (25 more hp, 30 more pounds-feet)
  • Twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter PowerBoost V-6 hybrid: 430 hp, 570 pounds-feet (total system output; new for 2021)
  • 5.0-liter V-8: 400 hp, 410 pounds-feet (5 more hp, 10 more pounds-feet)
  • Turbo-diesel 3.0-liter V-6: 250 hp, 440 pounds-feet (no change)
